GRANDMA EBOLA

“Grandma Ebola” is the affectionate nickname given to this woman by our staff in Sierra Leone.

Yye Kargbo is 74 years old – an age not so easy to reach in a country where life expectancy is just 46. She also has an extraordinary strength: she survived Ebola.

When we discharged her on Sunday, she thanked us for taking care of her and for the “discharge pack”: a pack of rice, beans, flour and oil that we give to all the patients who leave our Ebola Treatment Center to help them start over after the illness .

Good luck Yve Kargbo!

Over 11 million patients treated since 1994. None of it possible without your support.
